Many years ago, I received a media release that referred to a singer-songwriter as "the Irish Van Morrison" and I felt obliged to point out that Van Morrison is, in fact, Irish. I was heartened to read today that, in a poll to establish the worst fake Scottish accent in films, several votes had to be discounted because they nominated James Bond star Sean Connery.
PS: The "winners" included Christopher Lambert, Mel Gibson, Michael Caine, Jessica Lange, Mike Myers and Alec Guinness.
