Beaut fruit prices

In Downtown LA yesterday, at the Grand Central Market, I could have done almost a week's worth of fruit and veg shopping for about $10. Price examples: three pounds of bananas for $1, two avocados for $1, two pounds of apples for $1 and three pounds of potatoes for $1. Now, the prices in Hollywood and elsewhere are significantly higher - meaning that there are two economies here: one for the poor and one for the rich. Concerns about whether the farmers and labourers were getting their fair share aside, I know where I'd be shopping if I lived here.
